Readers Theatre Presents: Dr. Jim Epperson and the Phoenix Readers
Speakers and forums: AAUW Lecture Series, 6:30 – 7:30pmThursday, February 9: Dr. Jim Epperson, Catawba College professor emeritus of theatre arts, will begin the program by talking about Readers Theatre and the process that is used to determine what readings make good performance pieces. He will then take us through the rehearsal process. Dr. Epperson is the Director of the Phoenix Readers, a volunteer Readers Theatre company of men and women aged 55 and older. The Readers are a performing arts branch of Center of the Faith and Arts. Afterward Dr. Epperson’s talk, a group of the Readers will perform some of their recent and upcoming pieces. It should be a most interesting and entertaining evening. Light refreshments will be provided by AAUW Salisbury. Free. Sponsored by American Association of University Women, Salisbury branch.
