Janet Spriggs serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. She has worked within the North Carolina Community College System for over 20 years, serving for 15 years at Carteret Community College in Morehead City before moving to Rowan-Cabarrus in January 2012.

In her current role at the College, Ms. Spriggs leads the Student Success and Service Excellence team, which includes student success and support services, finance, human resources, and institutional effectiveness.  She has completed the coursework for her doctorate in higher education administration at Northeastern University and later this year, she will complete her doctoral thesis, focused on understanding the support systems and services that improve persistence to completion for lower-income community college students.

Ms. Spriggs and her husband of 30 years, Douglas, live in west Rowan County with their two Norfolk Terrier “fur babies”, Obie and Gracie, and they love nothing more than spending time with their five children and three grandchildren.  She is a passionate advocate for serving others through leading and for making a difference through the power of education. Ms. Spriggs quote for life: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel” (Maya Angelou).
